805 Lacrosse, a SLO County based 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to growing the game of lacrosse throughout the Central Coast, was recently awarded an equipment grant from the US Lacrosse First Stick equipment program. The grant will provide 20 sets of boys and girls lacrosse equipment that 805 Lacrosse will utilize to equip new players and spread the game to as many youth along the Central Coast as possible.

With the receipt of the recent equipment grant, 805 Lacrosse has re-opened registration for the current 2019 youth rec season. The mid-season registration option will include full equipment rental along with the registration fee. The reduced cost fee will be $75 for boys and $50 for girls aged 8 – 17 for the remainder of the season. The 805 Lacrosse rec season is scheduled to run through late May with two weekly practices available in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, or Atascadero for the boys and once per week in SLO for the girls’ team. Games are played on Saturdays at Shell Beach Elementary in Shell Beach. Each player will need to have a current US Lacrosse membership prior to registering. 

805 Lacrosse is excited for this opportunity and hopes that the equipment grant will enable many more local youth to learn and play the exciting game of lacrosse. The organization would like to offer special thanks to board member Pete Lee for spearheading our grant application and enabling us to receive this award. We hope that new players will take advantage of this low-cost opportunity to play without the financial concerns that can be associated with purchasing equipment for a game that they may not be familiar with and have never played before.
